Choir rehearsals, class times, and registration information can be found in the choir and classes descriptions below.

All rehearsals and classes for the Summer Session 2020 are held at Hulbert Piano, 12555 West Wirth Street, Brookfield, WI.

Mary’s Angels Children’s Choir

Mary’s Angels Children’s Choir is open to all boys and girls in 1st and 2nd grade.  No audition required.

Rehearses Mondays (September through May) from 3:15 – 4:15 p.m.*

Celestial Singers is open to all boys (with unchanged voices) and girls in 3rd through 5th grade. No audition required.

Musicā Oramus is open to experienced choir members / vocalists age 12 through young adult. Audition required.

Knights of the Choir Loft

Knights of the Choir Loft is open to all boys in 6th through 12th grade.  No audition required but members must be able to match pitches.

*Members receive a detailed calendar with all rehearsals, Mass times and concerts.

**Once a month during the Fall and Spring Sessions there is a combined choir rehearsal for KOTCL and CS from 5:15 – 6:15 p.m. – KOTCL joins CS at 5:15 p.m. in place of their regular rehearsal time. Members receive a detailed calendar of all rehearsals, Mass times and concerts. 

Classes

Praying the Latin Mass for Children

Students learn to pray Latin Mass through the writings of the holy men and women of the Church and the treasury of sublime music composed for the Mass.  Beginning and Intermediate Levels offered (September through May).  

Beginner (age 4-8): Wednesdays 9:00 – 10:00 a.m.  Intermediate (age 9-14): Wednesdays 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.

Sacred Music History

Students learn the history of sacred music beginning with early sacred chant, continuing with the rich treasury of music for the Mass and finally delving into other genres of sacred music including the great works for concert halls.  Beginning and Intermediate Levels offered (September through May).  

Beginner (age 4-8): Thursdays 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.  Intermediate (age 9-14): Thursdays 3:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Music Essentials for Children

Students learn basic music skills using the Kodaly method, folk tunes, and the music of the greatest pedagogues and composers throughout history.  Music Essentials Classes prepare students for a solid foundation in music.  Sessions end with a concert!  Beginning and Intermediate Levels offered. 

Beginner (age 4-8): Thursdays 9:00 – 10:00 a.m.  Intermediate (age 9-14): Thursdays 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. (September through May). 

Summer Session 2020 Beginner Level: 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. / Intermediate Level 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.

Audition Preparation Class

This class helps students prepare for auditions, competitions, college entrance auditions, WSMA, Federation Auditions, recitals, theory / sight-singing exams, etc.  Students are taught how to prepare for their solos / duets, ensembles, and exams, by professional musicians and have the opportunity to perform in a Master Class setting.  Students can also sign up for individual time with a professional musician in addition to the class. 

Classes are held on Saturdays (September through May) from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (extra classes can be added if needed) and private coachings are scheduled separately.  Accompanist available for auditions.
